PULSE is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) support group and organization dedicated to raising awareness about patient safety and reducing medical errors through advocacy, education, and support. We work to empower the public to make informed decisions, increase effective communication and respect between healthcare providers and the public, and create community partnerships that will foster and ultimately lead to safer healthcare environments.

PULSE services include:
• Counseling services for patients and families after a medical error.
• Support groups with occasional guest speakers. (some locations)
• One-on-one support and guidance for patients and their families.
• 24-hour access to mental health services and patient consultants.
• Information from some of the most well known people in healthcare advocacy.
• Early intervention after a medical error to defuse anger and help communicate
   the families needs with the provider.
• Educational programs and workshops to help local community members become    advocates to reduce medical errors for themselves and their families, which will    ultimately reduce lawsuits and hospital costs. (some locations)
• Working with the healthcare community to help bridge the gap of communication    and react to medical errors.
• Hospital presentations for staff about the patient’s role in patient safety.
